Introduction
Have you ever misplaced your smartphone? It is not in your pocket or on the charger.
You find yourself mentally retracing your steps: Did I leave it in the bedroom, living room or maybe the car?
You try but you cannot, with your mind’s eye, see yourself laying it down in any of these places.
This search takes place largely inside your head, looking with your mind’s eye.
It goes much the same way with your memories. They are often played out like a sort of film in your head, as described in remembering an event changes your memory.
In Matthew Maltz’s book Psycho-Cybernetics he said:
“See yourself sitting quietly and unmoved while an associate rants and raves. See yourself going through your daily tasks one by one, calmly, composed, unhurried, in spite of the pressures of a busy day. See yourself maintaining the same constant, stable course, in spite of the various hurry-bells and pressure-bells in your environment. See yourself in various situations that have in the past upset you, only now you remain “set,” settled, poised – by not responding.”
This is the ideal state of mind to get to… the question is how do you get there?
Now before we answer that question…

How To See Yourself With Your Mind’s Eye?
According to the American Psychology Association the definition of mind’s eye is the minds capacity to recall or create images on visual experience.
A journal written by Lara Maister, Sophie De Beukelaer, Matthew R. Longo and Manos Tsakiris on Sage Journals called “The Self in the Mind’s Eye: Revealing How We Truly See Ourselves Through Reverse Correlation” states the following:
“How we picture ourselves in our mind’s eye has fundamental socioeconomical and clinical implications. Our perception of our own physical qualities is tightly related to our self-esteem and also affects a spectrum of social behaviors ranging from choice of romantic partners to use of appearance-modification practices such as plastic surgery. Holding distorted self-representations can be distressing and is linked to serious clinical disorders, such as body dysmorphia and anorexia.”
That’s why in life a superpower you should shoot for to achieve is how you SEE YOURSELF in your mind’s eye.

We try things like talking to ourselves or recite and rewrite positive affirmations… but this does NOT bring lasting change.
You must begin to PICTURE YOURSELF in a new way in order to enact real change.
If you do it properly there should be no struggle taking place within your mind as you make those changes.
Now what I have learned is if there is a struggle taking place within your mind as you “work” on changing your life, you have succumbed to exercising will power in a disempowering way.
The reality is IMAGINATION TRUMPS WILL POWER ALL DAY LONG.
Maybe you have tried motivating yourself with will power… but you find that you cannot maintain it or cross over to the next level.
Will power always run out of gas while imagination always has a full tank.
Keep this in mind as you make changes in your life.
